Overcoming Adversity: How Amberly Snyder’s Accident Changed Her Life

On February 15, 2024, Amberly Snyder brought her advocacy program to Pepin and gave two presentations to Pepin and Alma students and the public about the importance of seatbelt use and prioritizing safety on the road. She told the packed gymnasium about the day that her life changed forever.

As a youngster and a teen, Amberly’s world revolved around horses and the thrill of the rodeo arena. On January 10, 2010, while driving to a rodeo event, her truck slid on an icy road, causing it to roll over multiple times. The impact of the accident ejected her from the vehicle, and she was found unconscious and severely injured. Amberly’s injuries left her paralyzed from the waist down. It was later determined that if she had been wearing her seatbelt, the outcome may have been different.

Yet, despite the challenges she has faced since that day, Amberly has become a sought-after motivational speaker, sharing her story and spreading awareness about the importance of seatbelt usage. Her determination and resilience have inspired countless individuals around the world, and her story is a testament to the power of the human spirit and the ability to prevail over adversity, inspiring people to overcome their own challenges and embrace the power of resilience.
